What brought you to the city: My husband, Ryan, received his PhD from the Univ. of Memphis. After completing his degree, he was hired on as an assistant professor of archaeology.

How many kids: 4 — Ali, age 10 attends 5th grade at Holy Rosary School. Asher, age 7 attends 2nd grade at Campus School. Kates, age 5, attends JK at St. Luke’s Day School and Paige, age 3, attends Pre-K at St. Luke’s Day School as well.
Pets: Hidalgo (2 year old Shepherd/Husky mix) and Bagel the beagle
Background: I have a BA in Communication from Grove City College, PA and a Graphic Design Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. BC (before children) I was a designer in Pittsburgh for an Ad agency. After a few years, I switched careers and became a certified ABA therapist for children with autism. For the last 12 years I’ve been a private therapist for kids on the spectrum. I’m also a WSI certified swim instructor and three years ago I started “Lori’s Swim School” out of my home, specializing in teaching special needs kids.
Community Involvement: I am blessed to lead a women’s bible study through my place of worship, Highpoint Church. My husband and I also facilitate a weekly marriage class called Re|Engage. We also teach our son’s second grade Sunday school class weekly. I’m active in the PTO at Holy Rosary and room mom for Ali’s class this year. Our family has recently fostered and really loved the experience.
