Passionate About the Memphis area
and the Moms Who Live Here

Meet the New Contributors!

Over the next few days, the Memphis Moms Blog will be introducing (and reintroducing) our writers. Each of these women lives and writes in the Memphis area, and we are confident that you will find someone that you can connect with. There are seven new writers featured today!

Kristen was raised in a small town in central Arkansas. She received her B.A. from the University of Arkansas — Fayetteville with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice. In 2003, she moved to Memphis where she fell in love with the city and her now husband, Blake. They are parents to Barrett (April 2011) and Elizabeth Ann (March 2016) and a black lab called Hunter. Kristen has nearly ten years experience as a strategic marketing consultant and freelance writer, and she is the immediate past President of the Board of Directors for the Commission on Missing and Exploited Children (COMEC) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Turkey Trotters. In her seemingly rare down time, she enjoys a strong cup of coffee and a bold glass of red wine, traveling, family dinners, late night Netflix binge watching and girls’ night out!

Ashley is a blogger, aspiring picture book writer, boy mom to Franklin (2006) and Teddy (2012), and wife to Robert. Originally from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, she has lived in Memphis for over a decade, and her heart belongs to Midtown! When she isn’t wrangling her two crazy kids, you will find Ashley writing and Instagramming for her children’s literature blog, Booktomato. Ashley loves Murder She Wrote, sewing, and unlimited access to good lattes. She hates clutter, toys with too many pieces, and salads with iceberg lettuce.

Aubrey is a busy single mom, originally from Houston, TX, who has lived in the Memphis area for 14 years. She loves everything that Memphis has to offer and loves living downtown. Aubrey went to college at Arkansas Tech and works at St. Jude full time. She has 3 amazing daughters: Jasmin was born in 2001 and performs with the color guard in Hernando, Emma was born in 2004 and loves to play percussion and sing, and Madyson – born in 2013 – clearly runs her house and keeps her big sisters in line. Currently, she is also on a special journey as a gestational carrier for a local Memphis couple, carrying twins which are due in March of 2018.

Madeline is a native Memphian. She played soccer at Coastal Carolina University before attending law school at Ole Miss. She’s a practicing family law attorney. She’s mom to Ransom (June 2015) and fur baby Monster. She likes LaCroix, the number 8, and appliquéd outfits on boys. She doesn’t drink coffee in the morning and is tired of going to the zoo with her son EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND.

Lindsay grew up in Bartlett, but now calls East Memphis home.  She is the mother to Hayden (April 2008).  She has yet to meet the man she can call hubby, so if you know anyone………She works full-time at a bank, part-time at St. Columba Retreat Center, and is studying accounting at Memphis. She is also is a member of The Junior League of Memphis.  She loves a little bit of coffee in her creamer and throwing the football with her son and dislikes when her son forgets to get a towel before he gets in the shower.

Cici is a rehabilitated former corporate attorney now working as a Sr. Director for Human resources in the health care industry. Originally from the Philippines, she has lived and worked in 3 countries and speaks 4 languages. She has been married to her husband for 12 years and is mom to two kids, Skye (born 2008) and Hunter (born 2012). When not working or traveling for her full time job, she works a second job driving her kids to countless sports activities around town. In her non-existent free time, she tries to exercise, catch up on her Goodreads goal of 50 books a year, and watch makeup tutorial videos on YouTube.

Jessica was born and raised just outside of Atlanta. She has a BA in Psychology and a teaching certification and worked in self-contained autism classes before her children were born. She moved to Memphis 6 years ago following a job for her husband. She has a 9 year old daughter, a 6 year old son, another 6 year old son (not twins – adoption rocks!), a five year old daughter, and a live-in mom. Jessica home schools 3 of her children and one is in public school. Two of her children also have chronic illnesses, so she spends a lot of time on the phone and in doctors offices. Jessica and her husband, Jody, are planting a church in downtown Memphis called Riverdeep Church. Jessica enjoys cooking for her daughter who has very specific dietary needs, coffee with friends, dating her husband, and watching people’s faces when she blasts the rap music in the minivan.
