Brandy hails from Paris, TX. She has always admired Memphis: the culture, the kitsch, the city life it offers. So she moved here for a job and to be closer to family after many years of traipsing around the U.S. Brandy finished her undergraduate degrees at the University of Arkansas- Fayetteville and her graduate degrees at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, where she met her wife, Theresa. She teaches writing, literature, and gender and women’s studies at the University of Memphis. Brandy and Theresa welcomed their son, Finnegan (Finn) in 2015. Brandy likes to pretend she’s a juggler or a trapeze artist in the circus flying from role to role: wife, mother, writer, editor, teacher. Sleep? She doesn’t remember what that is. She loves a good cup of half-caf in the morning and a light bubbly bottle of prosecco on the occasional evening out.
Michelle Stevens is a single mom by God’s design to two amazing kids and a fur baby named Mister. They have been blessed with 3 kids: Luke (February 2003), Lilia (May 2004), and Daniel (2012). Daniel was born at 29 weeks, and was diagnosed with SPD, Sensory Processing Disorder, at the age of 2. She homeschools all 3 of them, so she doesn’t have free time for hobbies or “me” time. She enjoys organizing, exercising, and watching TV when she gets the opportunity.
