February Family Friendly Things To Do In Memphis

January felt like the longest year month yet! Good thing February is upon us! Hoping the groundhog predicts Springtime is on the way! Here’s a list of FUN things to do with your family all month long:

  1. Crosstown 10K & 5K

    Head over to the Crosstown Concourse this Saturday, February 1, for their race, benefiting Church Health. After the race, Church Health will host post-race activities inside Crosstown Concourse, featuring wellness and healthcare services, kid fun, food and drink samples, and more! Head over to www.runthe901.raceroster.com to sign up for either race!
     

  2. President’s Day Playdate

    Join us (Memphis Moms Blog) at Transfor{M}ama on Monday, February 17, for a fun tribute to our nation’s leaders! Choose from two times: 10am or 10:45am. Playdate includes a story time, craft, and snack. Adults are free. Kids (all ages) are only $5. 

  3. Harlem Globetrotters

    The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, featuring larger than life entertainers, is bringing their all-new show, “Pushing the Limits” to Memphis February 1st at the FedEx Forum! Every show features a blend of hilarious hijinks and incredible basketball skills including ball handling, high flying dunks, and a new record-breaking attempt. The Harlem Globetrotters are a one-of-a kind experience putting a new spin on family time!

  4. Mid-South Marketplace

    Head out to Millington on February 1 for their 3 year celebration! Antiques, clothing, jewelry, furniture, and more. With over 150 vendors, a cafe, and even a vintage pinball arcade ($10 all you can play!), there’s something for everyone!

  5. Family Stroller Strides (Leap Day!)

    Leap, skip, or hop your way to a fun family workout on Saturday, February 29th at 9:15. Class will be held at The Church of the Holy Communion athletic center. All fitness levels welcome! Click here to register (spots are limited).

  6. Bi-lingual Storytime

    Vengan con toda la familia para canciones, cuentos, juegos, y manualidades que promueven la lectura y el bilinguismo — Bring the whole family for songs, games, stories, and crafts that promote reading and bilingualism. Saturday, February 8, at the Benjamin Hooks Library, from 11am-11:30am. 

  7. Flat Stanley!

    The beloved children’s book comes alive through a performance at The Circuit Playhouse. This musical is for all ages and follows a boy named Stanley who thinks his life is “too normal.” The next morning he wakes up flat! Performances are on February 15, at either 10am or 2pm. 

  8. Forrest Spence “No Show Ball” 

    Coolers are on sale for the 5th Annual No Show Ball, featuring: Parmesan Chicken from Jim’s Place Grille, side from Moondance Grill, creamed spinach from Lucchesi’s Ravioli & Deli Company, bread from Wally Hatchet’s, dessert from Smallcakes Collierville, and wine from Natalie’s Liquor Warehouse. $100 to feed 4. Click the link to purchase one for yourself, as a gift for someone you know or a gift for a family in the hospital. The complete dinner will be delivered to your door on Saturday, February 8.

  9. Jazzy Family Day at the Dixon

    Brass, sass, dazzle, and roar at the Dixon during a fun-filled day on Saturday, February 15, from 10am-2pm! Explore the inspired lives of Harlem Renaissance artists and discover the power of perseverance. The museum will offer art activities, snacks, and specials guests. Bring the whole family — admission is free for everyone!

  10. Sweet Street — First Fridays on Broad

    Bundle up, and head to the Broad Avenue Arts District for a sweet time. Get a $5 punch card and sample mouth watering treats from local retailers. Friday, February 7, from 5pm to 8pm.
